PSEC is led exclusively by Pennsylvania LGBTQ student youth organizations who constitute member organizations. As an entirely youth-led organization, the coalition functions with three separate compartments under the Coordinating Committee’s group-centered leadership. Ashish Kalani (Wyomissing, PA)
PSEC Coordinating Committee Convener
Ashish Kalani is the PSEC Coordinating Committee Convener. Ashish is directly responsible for facilitating the overall coalition’s communication and agenda. He presides over the meetings of PSEC delegates from member schools and regularly represents the PSEC in Harrisburg.
A first generation American, and Pennsylvanian, Ashish is from a Reading suburb and is currently a student at Villanova University. An active member of his university’s LGBTQ community, Ashish currently serves on the steering committee of Villanova’s Gay Straight Coalition. He interned for the National Queer Asisan Pacific Islander Alliance (NQAPIA) in Washington, DC during the summer of 2012.--

Faith Elmes is the PSEC Coordinating Committee Assistant Convener. Faith is accountable to the coalition for member relations and overall support of the Coordinating Committee Convener.
Born and raised in rural Perry County, Faith is from Landisburg, PA. She is now a sophomore at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she is an Executive Board member of IUP’s Pride Alliance.

Jason Landau Goodman (Lower Merion, PA)
Executive Director
Jason Landau Goodman is the founding Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Student Equality Coalition. He has been a leader in the statewide movement of LGBTQ youth for nearly two years as the first person to work directly and specifically with LGBTQ youth on the statewide level in Pennsylvania.
A fifth generation Pennsylvanian, Jason is from Lower Merion Township and is currently a student at The University of Pennsylvania. In 2009, Jason started and spearheaded the work on a local non-discrimination ordinance in Lower Merion Township, which unanimously passed the Lower Merion Board of Commissioners in December 2010, making Lower Merion the first municipality in Montgomery County to do so. Jason is a 2010 Jonathan Lax Scholar and has been named one of the top 12 LGBT Youth Leaders in the United States by Campus Pride. He was named a 2010 runner-up for Person of the Year by the Philadelphia Gay News. In June 2011, he was invited by the White House as one of five college youth in the nation to President Obama’s LGBT Pride Month Reception. Jason is also the President of the Board of Directors for PSEC. His work in the LGBTQ community has been profiled in newspaper articles and online blogs across the country.
